Roc-A-Fella Co-Founder Arrested in Federal Drug Bust
Kareem “Biggs” Burke—the silent co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records along with Jay-Z and Damon Dash—was arrested today (October 15) in a federal drug sweep spanning New York to South Florida.
According to the New York Post, Biggs, was among 43 people cuffed for their involvement in a massive drug distribution network, headed by Geovanny “Manny” Rodriguez Perez.
Special agent Jim Hayes, who is in charge of Homeland Security Investigations for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, told the Post that Perez “controlled the marijuana market in NYC.”
Mattew Stang, a writer and ad rep for pot publication, High Times, was also cuffed in the bust.
As of press time Biggs’s alleged role in the network is unknown and he has yet to comment on the arrest.
